20 May 2011TL;DR: Grouping media files via playlists on a computer-readable medium as mentioned in this paper is a popular technique for grouping media files. One or more media files are selected according to a grouping criterion to define one or more playlists from the media files, and a container group is associated with the playlists and stores values identifying each of the playslots associated with a container, along with references to each playlist.

13 Mar 2003TL;DR: In this paper, a DDNS server includes a terminal management table storing the domain name, global IP address and port number of a client terminal, characterized in that the terminal management section checks whether a same global address is present in the management table when a request to overwrite a global IP Address is made from a client server and, in case the same global Address is absent, permits overwriting of the global Address.
Abstract: The present invention aims at providing a DDNS server, a DDNS client terminal and a DDNS system which maintains high security while using DHCP and allows an access to terminals having the same IP address as well as data updates. The DDNS server includes a terminal management table storing the domain name, global IP address and port number of a DDNS client terminal, characterized in that the terminal management section checks whether a same global IP address is present in the terminal management table when a request to overwrite a global IP address is made from a DDNS client terminal and, in case the same global IP address is absent, permits overwriting of the global IP address, and is case the same global IP address is present, checks the port number, and in case the same port number is detected, inhibits overwriting of the global IP address, and in case the port number is different, permits overwriting of the global IP address.

04 May 2004TL;DR: In this article, outline points of a white line on a road and a guardrail, which is parallel to the white line, are detected as a polynomial, and the images from the image pick-up are intermittently obtained at constant periodical intervals, and further the images are compressed using JPEG compression method.
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus carried on a vehicle, an image of a scene around the vehicle, which is photographed by an image pick-up, is inputted into a white line failure extractor. Then, outline points of a white line on a road and a guardrail, which is parallel to the white line, are sought. Further, the outline points are detected as a polynomial. Moreover, the image photographed by the image pick-up is also inputted into an intermittent image obtainer. Then, the images from the image pick-up are intermittently obtained at constant periodical intervals, and further the images are compressed using JPEG compression method. Further, in a synthesizer, the feature data from the white line feature extractor and the image data from the intermittent image obtainer are aligned in order of time. Moreover, the image data and feature data, which are aligned in order of time, are conserved within a given constant period by a recorder. Thus, accurate data as to condition of the road can be recorded using a small capacity memory.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a comprehensive architecture of cellular networks with mmWave access, where mm-wave small cell basestations and a conventional macro basestation are connected to Centralized-RAN to effectively operate the system by enabling power efficient seamless handover as well as centralized resource control including dynamic cell structuring.
Abstract: SUMMARY Triggered by the explosion of mobile traffic, 5G (5th Generation) cellular network requires evolution to increase the system rate 1000 times higher than the current systems in 10 years. Motivated by this common problem, there are several studies to integrate mm-wave access into current cellular networks as multi-band heterogeneous networks to exploit the ultra-wideband aspect of the mm-wave band. The authors of this paper have proposed comprehensive architecture of cellular networks with mmwave access, where mm-wave small cell basestations and a conventional macro basestation are connected to Centralized-RAN (C-RAN) to effectively operate the system by enabling power efficient seamless handover as well as centralized resource control including dynamic cell structuring to match the limited coverage of mm-wave access with high traffic user locations via user-plane/control-plane splitting. In this paper, to prove the effectiveness of the proposed 5G cellular networks with mm-wave access, system level simulation is conducted by introducing an expected future traffic model, a measurement based mm-wave propagation model, and a centralized cell association algorithm by exploiting the C-RAN architecture. The numerical results show the effectiveness of the proposed network to realize 1000 times higher system rate than the current network in 10 years which is not achieved by the small cells using commonly considered 3.5 GHz band. Furthermore, the paper also gives latest status of mm-wave devices and regulations to show the feasibility of using mm-wave in the 5G systems.

22 Jun 1984TL;DR: In this paper, an ultrasonic transducer is swingably mounted on a drive shaft, which is given a swinging transversal movement and a reciprocating longitudinal movement, and the transducers emit an acoustic beam which is steered in a raster format.
Abstract: In a mechanically scanned ultrasonic probe, an ultrasonic transducer (4) is swingably mounted on a drive shaft (9,9a,9b; 46; 64,67; 85) which is given a swinging transversal movement and a reciprocating longitudinal movement. The transducer emits an acoustic beam which is steered in a raster format in response to the swing and reciprocating motions. Echos returning from objects contain diagnostic data of a three-dimensional space. All the components are encased in a toothbrush-like housing having a head portion (3a), an intermediate portion (3b) and a hand-grip portion (2). The dual motions are provided by a drive mechanism accommodated in the hand-grip portion and the transducer is accommodated in the head portion. The drive shaft extends through the intermediate portion.
