TL;DR: An overview of G.hn technology, a unified next generation networking technology operating over all types of in-home wiring, focusing on the main principles used to build a single transmission scheme for multiple types of wires.
Abstract: Several wired in-home networking technologies are currently available to consumers, although most of them were designed to cope with only one type of home wiring and are not interoperable with each other. In 2006 ITU-T started a standardization project called G.hn for a unified next generation networking technology, operating over all types of in-home wiring (phone line, power line, coaxial cable, and Cat-5 cable). ITU-T Recommendation G.9960, consented in December 2008, is the G.hn foundation: it specifies network architecture, most of the PHY, and some aspects of the MAC. The complete Recommendation is expected within 2009. Besides residential premises, G.hn is intended for small/home offices and public places such as multiple dwelling units, hotels, and conference rooms. This article gives an overview of G.hn technology focusing on the main principles used to build a single transmission scheme for multiple types of wires.

26 Aug 1999TL;DR: In this article, a speaker verification/identification module determines the identity of the speaker and this information is used to control how the dialog between user and system proceeds, and the user can interact with the system using a suitable computer attached via the internet.
Abstract: Users of the system can access the TV contents and program media recorder by speaking in natural language sentences. The user interacts with the television and with other multimedia equipment, such as media recorders and VCRs, through the unified access controller. A speaker verification/identification module determines the identity of the speaker and this information is used to control how the dialog between user and system proceeds. Speech can be input through either a microphone or over the telephone. In addition, the user can interact with the system using a suitable computer attached via the internet. Regardless of the mode of access, the unified access controller interprets the semantic content of the user's request and supplies the appropriate control signals to the television tuner and/or recorder.

22 Dec 2003TL;DR: In this article, a constant current circuit unit includes one resistor and two transistors mounted on a surface of a sub-substrate on which a conductive land is formed, which is bonded to a main substrate.
Abstract: In a module socket, a connecter and a connector are connected by wiring, and three LED modules are connected in parallel with respect to a constant voltage circuit unit via the wiring. Each module has a constant current circuit unit and an LED mounting unit. The constant current circuit unit includes one resistor and two transistors mounted on a surface of a sub-substrate on which a conductive land is formed. The sub-substrate is bonded to a main substrate.

07 Jun 1991TL;DR: In this paper, a decoder for product codes includes a received symbol reliability detector for detecting the reliability of each erase-flag-carrying symbol produced by a row code decoder, and an erase flag adjuster for eliminating the erase flag of a particular symbol which has a higher reliability than a predetermined reference value.
Abstract: A decoder for product codes includes a received symbol reliability detector for detecting the reliability of each erase-flag-carrying symbol produced by a row code decoder, and an erase flag adjuster for eliminating the erase flag of a particular symbol which has a higher reliability than a predetermined reference value among erase-flag-carrying symbols supplied from a row code decoder in accordance with a data output of a received symbol reliability detector.
