TL;DR: In this paper, a transparent glass plate was roughened at the submicron level, and then a chemically adsorbed monolayer of a fluorocarbon compound was formed along the glass surface.
Abstract: A transparent glass plate was roughened at the submicron level, and then a chemically adsorbed monolayer of a fluorocarbon compound was formed along the glass surface. The monolayer was prepared using the chemical coupling reaction accompanying dehydrochlorination between a chlorosilyl group of the heptadeca-fluorodecyltrichlorosilane (CF3(CF2)7(CH2)2SiCl3: HFTS) surface-active agent and a hydroxyl group on the glass surface. The contact angle of the glass surface relative to water was approximately 155 degrees with transmittance kept at 92%. This glass plate may be useful for various products, such as motor vehicles and building window glass.

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated gas sensor array is proposed to overcome the poor selectivity and drift encountered by individual gas sensor by using post-process micro-machining technology of silicon integrated circuit (IC).
Abstract: An integrated gas sensor array is promising to overcome the poor selectivity and drift encountered by individual gas sensor. Micro-machined gas sensor array was fabricated using the post-process micro-machining technology of silicon integrated circuit (IC). The size of a 2×4 array is 2 mm ×4 mm, and the active area of each cell is 50 μm ×50 μm. The electric properties, thermal characteristics, and the response to standard gases of the sensor array were investigated. The micro-heater can be driven to 400°C with about 9 mW applied power, and thermal response time constant of a micro-heater is about 10 ms. The techniques of oxygen radical assisted EB evaporation was utilized to prepare SnO2 sensitive films that show high sensitivity and good selectivity to C2H5OH.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system for improving site operations by detecting abnormalities includes a first sensor abnormality detector connected to first sensor and configured to learn a first normal behavior sequence, a second sensor anomalous detector connected with second sensor, and an abnormality correlation server configured to receive anomalous first sensor data and abnormally scored second sensor data.
Abstract: A system for improving site operations by detecting abnormalities includes a first sensor abnormality detector connected to a first sensor and configured to learn a first normal behavior sequence, a second sensor abnormality detector connected to a second sensor and configured to learn a second normal behavior sequence, an abnormality correlation server configured to receive abnormally scored first sensor data and abnormally scored second sensor data, the abnormality correlation server further configured to correlate the received abnormally scored first sensor data and abnormally scored second sensor data sensed at the same time by the first and second sensors and determine an abnormal event; and an abnormality report generator configured to generate an abnormality report based on the correlated the received abnormally scored first sensor data and abnormally scored second sensor data.

TL;DR: A multimedia optical disk comprising at least one information layer to which plural system streams and plural program chain information entries are recorded is described in this paper, where the plurality system streams are interleaved in group-of-pictures GOP units data containing at least moving pictures, and reproduction control information containing special reproduction mode information declaring the address of the next data to be reproduced according to the reproduction mode used.
Abstract: A multimedia optical disk comprising at least one information layer to which plural system streams and plural program chain information entries are recorded. The plural system streams are interleaved in group-- of-- pictures GOP units data containing at least moving pictures, and reproduction control information containing special reproduction mode information declaring the address of the next data to be reproduced according to the special reproduction mode used. The plural program chain information entries declare the system stream reproduction sequence of a program chain comprising more than one system stream. At least one system stream is shared by plural program chains. The address information of the first reproduction control information and the address information of the last reproduction control information in each system stream are recorded to the program chain information according to the system stream reproduction sequence.

TL;DR: In this paper, the audio stream type information is presented to the user on the same screen from which an AV program is selected for playback, so that the user can change the audio channel as desired before playback starts.
Abstract: Optical discs formatted to record plural audio streams of different content for reproduction with a single video stream can result in audio output of content unexpected by the user depending upon the audio stream configuration contained in the AV stream reproduced. This can confuse and cause the user to change the audio output after reproduction starts. To prevent this, information indicating the type of audio stream configuration contained in each AV stream on the optical disc is stored with each audio stream. This audio stream type information is presented to the user on the same screen from which an AV program is selected for playback. The user can thus know before playback starts what audio stream channel is preselected for playback, and can change the audio channel as desired before playback starts.
