26 Aug 2004TL;DR: In this article, the authors present methods, apparatuses, and systems for use in controlling the display of information relative to the playback of programming content and displaying programming guide data.
Abstract: The present embodiments provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for use in controlling the display of information relative to the playback of programming content and displaying programming guide data. Some embodiments provide a method for use in controlling the display of an electronic programming guide. The method receives programming guide data, determines whether the guide data is to be filtered, filters the guide data to replace at least a first title with a generic title, determines whether limits are to be applied to the guide data, applies the limits to the programming guide data by replacing at least a second title with the generic title, and displays a programming guide according to programming guide data as filtered and as limited. Some embodiments further display progress bars for one or more active applications. Trick commands can be implemented by applications by selecting one or more of the displayed progress bars.

02 Mar 2006TL;DR: In this paper, a semiconductor device that is inexpensive and can suppress signal transmission delay, and a manufacturing method thereof, is presented, which includes: a plurality of semiconductor chips, a substrate that has, on the same surface of the substrate, a chip-to-chip interconnection for electrically connecting the plurality of chips to each other, and an external-connection pad is formed on the major surface other than a region facing the semiconductor substrate and is connected to the land on the wiring board via a second connector.
Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor device that is inexpensive and can suppress signal transmission delay, and a manufacturing method thereof. The semiconductor device includes: a plurality of semiconductor chips; a semiconductor substrate that has, on the same surface thereof, a chip-to-chip interconnection for electrically connecting the plurality of semiconductor chips to each other, and a plurality of chip-connection pads connected to the chip-to-chip interconnection; and a wiring board that has a plurality of lands of which pitch is larger than a pitch of the chip-connection pads, wherein a major surface of each of the plurality of semiconductor chips is connected to the chip-connection pads via a first connector so that the plurality of semiconductor chips are mounted on the semiconductor substrate, and an external-connection pad is formed on the major surface other than a region facing the semiconductor substrate, and is connected to the land on the wiring board via a second connector.

23 Jan 1996TL;DR: In this article, a one-chip local area network (LAN) device comprises more than one LAN interface ports each including one receiver (11-14), one transmitter (15-18), one triplet processor (25-28), a high-speed data bus (24), and a switch engine (34) connected to the high speed data bus.
Abstract: A one-chip local area network (LAN) device comprises more than one local area network interface ports each including one receiver (11-14), one transmitter (15-18) and one triplet processor (25-28), a high-speed data bus (24) to which individual ones of the plurality of local area network interface ports are connected, and a switch engine (34) connected to the high-speed data bus (24) and including a packet buffer controller (40), a high-speed data bus controller (42) and content-addressable memory manager (44). Each triplet processor (25-28), provides for the reading of a destination address in packets received from a corresponding one of the local area network interface ports and simultaneously provides for the cut-through transmission of packets received from other ones of the local area network interface ports that transfer the packets over the high-speed data bus (24).

27 Dec 2000TL;DR: In this article, a robot performing a variety of actions is disclosed, including the voice of a user picked up by a microphone is recognized by a voice recognizer, and a gesture of the user selected by a CCD is detected by an image recognizer.
Abstract: A robot performing a variety of actions is disclosed. The voice of a user picked up by a microphone is recognized by a voice recognizer. A gesture of the user picked up by a CCD is recognized by an image recognizer. A behavior decision unit decides the behavior to be taken by the robot based on the voice information provided by the voice recognizer and the image information provided by the image recognizer.

07 May 2012TL;DR: In this article, a high-frequency component is extracted from a brightness signal for a neighboring pixel to generate the focus information on the neighboring pixel, which is then used to calculate the depth value of each pixel using a coefficient based on the illumination component.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes: means for extracting, for each pixel of an image, a high-frequency component as focus information from a brightness signal for a neighboring pixel; means for integrating, for each pixel, the focus information on the neighboring pixel; means for replacing the focus information on each pixel with a value obtained using the focus information on the neighboring pixel greater than the focus information on that pixel to generate dark area focus information; means for integrating the brightness signals of each pixel and the neighboring pixel to extract an illumination component; means for calculating a depth value of each pixel using a coefficient based on the illumination component; means for normalizing the depth value of each pixel; means for controlling the normalized depth value using a tone curve; means for detecting a saturation of each pixel; and means for controlling the controlled depth value using the saturation.
