TL;DR: A 10 Gbit per second waveguide avalanche germanium photodiode under low reverse bias is reported, paving the way for low-power-consumption on-chip communication applications.
Abstract: Despite many recent advances in silicon photonics for optical telecommunications and on-chip optical interconnects, the issue of power consumption has not been fully addressed. Here, Virot et al. propose a waveguide avalanche germanium photodiode suitable for low power consumption interconnects.

TL;DR: Based on this new model, the bit error rate performance of an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing system with receive diversity over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels is analytically evaluated and some numerical results are given.
Abstract: Nakagami-m fading modeling in the frequency domain is investigated. For frequency-selective Nakagami-m fading channels, we show the magnitudes of the channel frequency responses to be also Nakagami-m distributed random variables with fading and mean power parameters as explicit functions of the fading and mean power parameters of the channel impulse responses. Based on this new model, the bit error rate performance of an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing system with receive diversity over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels is analytically evaluated and some numerical results are given.

TL;DR: This document describes two Fully-Specified FEC Schemes, LDPC- Staircase andLDPC-Triangle, and their application to the reliable delivery of objects on packet erasure channels.
Abstract: This document describes two Fully-Specified FEC Schemes, LDPC-Staircase and LDPC-Triangle, and their application to the reliable delivery of objects on packet erasure channels. These systematic FEC codes belong to the well known class of ``Low Density Parity Check'' (LDPC) codes, and are large block FEC codes in these sense of RFC3453.

TL;DR: In this article, a receiver and a method for receiving a signal comprising a carrier modulated with a known training sequence is described, in which an estimate a carrier frequency offset is obtained from an autocorrelation signal by auto-correlation of the part of the received signal containing a known learning sequence.
Abstract: A receiver and a method for receiving a signal comprising a carrier modulated with a known training sequence is described in which an estimate a carrier frequency offset is obtained from an autocorrelation signal by autocorrelation of the part of the received signal containing a known training sequence. The received signal is compensated with the frequency offset obtained to form a compensated received signal, and a timing reference for the received signal is obtained by cross-correlation of the compensated received signal with a known training sequence.

TL;DR: In this article, a single-stage integrated circuit drives LED sources in a constant power mode to eliminate the need for LED current sensing, while reshaping the waveform of the inductor current near line zero crossing to achieve high power factor.
Abstract: A single-stage integrated circuit drives LED sources in a constant power mode to eliminate the need for LED current sensing, while reshaping the waveform of the inductor current near line zero crossing to achieve high power factor. The integrated circuit achieves substantially constant input power by maintaining a constant voltage at a power factor corrector controller through an input voltage feedforward system. Accordingly, the disclosed circuit provides a high power factor, high efficiency, simple, and cost-effective solution with substantially consistent input power for both isolated and non-isolated offline LED applications.
