Spinal autophagy is differently modulated in distinct mouse models of neuropathic pain

TL;DR: The data indicate that spinal autophagy is differentially altered in different experimental pain models of neuropathic pain and that this process may be relevant for pain control.
Journal ArticleDOI

Erratum to: Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition) (Autophagy, 12, 1, 1-222, 10.1080/15548627.2015.1100356

Journal ArticleDOI

Modulation of pro-survival and death-associated pathways under retinal ischemia/reperfusion: effects of NMDA receptor blockade.

TL;DR: The present results contribute to unravel the mechanisms underlying retinal damage by high IOP‐induced transient ischemia in rat and implicate the pro‐survival PI3K/Akt pathway and the observed reduced expression of Bad in the neuroprotection afforded by MK801.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neuroprotection by leptin in a rat model of permanent cerebral ischemia: effects on STAT3 phosphorylation in discrete cells of the brain

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that systemic acute administration of leptin produces neuroprotection in rats subjected to permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAo), as revealed by a significant reduction of the brain infarct volume and neurological deficit up to 7 days after the induction of ischemia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of D-Limonene in Autophagy Induced by Bergamot Essential Oil in SH-SY5Y Neuroblastoma Cells

TL;DR: Testing the ability of BEO to modulate autophagic pathways in human SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells confirmed that the observed increase of LC3II levels in BEO-exposed cells is due to autophagy induction rather than to a decreased autophagosomal turnover.
