Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro and in vivo effectiveness of phenolic compounds for the control of postharvest gray mold of table grapes

TL;DR: In this article, the antifungal effect of 18 natural or synthetic phenolic compounds purchased from commercial suppliers, including simple phenolic, phenolic acids, stilbenes and flavonoids, were determined on four gray mold strains by an in vitro agar dilution assay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ferroptosis contributes to developmental cell death in rice blast.

TL;DR: This study provides significant molecular insights into the role of developmental cell death and iron homeostasis in fungal pathogenesis and finds inter-reliant and independent roles for ferroptosis and autophagy in controlling such precise cell death in M. oryzae during pathogenic differentiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI

Phototrophy and starvation-based induction of autophagy upon removal of Gcn5-catalyzed acetylation of Atg7 in Magnaporthe oryzae.

TL;DR: This study depicts a signaling network and regulatory mechanism underlying the autophagy induction by important environmental clues such as light and nutrients that are shown to be essential for M. oryzae conidiation.
